Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor will provide leadership, training, and guidance to warehouse staff while ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and industry regulations. Responsibilities may vary based on training, experience, and business needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping regulations.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of SAP and complete all related warehouse system training.
- Train, mentor, coach, and supervise warehouse personnel.
- Monitor department metrics related to shipping, receiving, inventory, and stock transfers, and take corrective action when needed.
- Coordinate warehousing and transportation activities throughout the distribution chain, including scheduling inbound and outbound shipments between locations.
- Oversee receipt and verification of incoming inventory.
- Ensure materials are properly stored and accurately recorded in SAP.
- Ensure kits are pulled accurately and on schedule while monitoring material handler productivity.
- Ensure customer orders and products are shipped on time.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation activities within SAP.
- Oversee internal material transfers and implement process improvements to streamline operations.
- Develop employee growth plans through training, coaching, mentoring, and team meetings.
- Maintain positive working relationships between the warehouse and other departments.
- Conduct employee evaluations and administer performance improvement plans as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with import/export procedures and company policies.
- Support Quality Management Systems and ISO-related processes and controls.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor staffing and operational capacity to meet business objectives.
- Enforce warehouse safety and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with daily material handling activities as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
These tasks are performed in accordance with engineering instructions, company procedures, professional training, customer requirements, and individual experience. Overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Warehouse and Logistics within an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful leadership experience as a Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.
- Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing services and NPI (New Product Introduction) processes.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
Technical Skills
- MUST have SAP experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience preparing reports and performing data entry.
Additional Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience preferred, especially Stand-Up Reach Forklift operation; willingness to become certified required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams, customers, freight forwarders, customs officials, and external partners.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, reports, and instructions.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in practical situations.
- Must maintain professional and effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to work additional hours or participate in occasional off-hour meetings/teleconferences with global facilities as needed.
