One of my top CPA firms is looking to bring on a Tax Manager. The partners are a mix from big and small firms and they like to hire based on technical skills, they have great mentors and a leadership program. This firm doesn’t have politics, which will be a refreshing work environment. They didn’t have any layoffs due to COVID and have continued to hire.
The firm promotes a work-life balance with the current environment of working from home they embrace being able to take a walk during the day, log-off to be with your family and not check emails on the weekends. They also have social hours and workout classes that you can log onto remotely.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex tax compliance engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectations
- Identify and respond to client issues in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.
- Manage expectations effectively through clear and continuous communication with the client and/or other accountant
- Communicate advice and answer questions of other associates relating to clients' accounting and tax situations
- Participate in and provide leadership for firm initiatives and projects
- Plan and schedule engagements with clients and firm resources
- Perform detailed reviews of tax workpapers and provision calculations completed by other associates
- Consult with office personnel on unusual client tax problems; diagnose client needs and work to satisfy those needs
- Communicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely manner
- Review financial statements and footnotes, management reports, executive reports, and other requested deliverables
- Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff, senior accountants, and managers
Qualifications
- 6 years solid experience in corporate, partnerships and individual compliance.
- BS and/or Masters in Accounting.
- Must be a CPA
- Superb communications skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Able to problem solve and think both creatively and logically.
- Strong tax research skills.
- The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $185,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
