Desktop Engineer – NYC (4 days onsite)
A leading investment management firm is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join its Infrastructure team in New York City. This individual will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the firm's global end-user computing environment, providing high-touch support to business users while driving desktop engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support enterprise desktop environments, including device management, imaging, patching, and Group Policy administration.
- Provide white-glove desktop support for office-based and remote users across multiple global locations.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, Citrix, Bloomberg, and other business-critical applications.
- Administer endpoint management platforms such as Intune and SCCM.
- Maintain desktop security standards, including Defender, CASB, and endpoint security policies.
- Automate processes and improve operational efficiency through PowerShell scripting.
- Partner with infrastructure teams on system deployments, upgrades, migrations, and testing initiatives.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical business systems.
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of desktop engineering and end-user support experience, ideally within financial services or a highly regulated environment.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, Intune, SCCM, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
- Experience supporting Citrix VDI/XenApp environments.
- Knowledge of desktop security tools and endpoint management best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
