Our client is a leading private investment platform with offices in New York, Chicago, and Dallas is expanding its newest and fastest-growing strategy: an open-ended real estate fund launched in 2022. The real estate team is operates in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on both financial performance and long-term community impact through affordable and workforce housing investments.
This role is available due to continued platform growth. The Senior Fund Accountant will work directly with the Fund CFO, partner closely with the Real Estate Asset Management team, and support the ongoing build-out of processes and infrastructure across the real estate fund. The position offers meaningful exposure to both property-level and fund-level accounting and the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven investment strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Review normalized financials prepared by the fund administrator and reconcile differences with property-level reporting, including mapping discrepancies and accounting method variations.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly property-level financial statements for joint-venture assets.
- Review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, general ledgers, and trial balances for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Monitor operating cash flows, reserves, and distribution calculations; partner with internal teams to approve fund distributions.
- Coordinate with property management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and reconcile operating accounts.
- Work directly with the fund administrator on monthly property-level reconciliations.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and support fund-level reporting and investor deliverables.
- Ensure consistency between property-level and fund-level accounting records.
- Support quarterly review and audit processes in coordination with the Fund Controller and Fund CFO.
- Assist in developing standardized accounting procedures, reporting templates, and process enhancements.
- Support system improvements and technology integrations (e.g., Yardi, MRI).
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting documentation across all assets.

Salary : $140,000 - $170,000
