The Vice President of Finance will lead the company’s finance organization during a period of rapid growth, regulatory evolution, and product expansion within the blockchain and digital assets ecosystem. This role is responsible for financial strategy, reporting, controls, treasury, and operational finance, while partnering closely with executive leadership, product, engineering, legal, and compliance teams. The ideal candidate combines traditional finance rigor with an understanding of crypto-native business models, token economics, and regulatory considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a senior financial leader and strategic partner to the CEO and executive team
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support growth, scalability, and capital efficiency
- Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic insights related to product launches, protocol economics, and market expansion
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and evolving digital asset accounting guidance
- Lead close processes across fiat and crypto balances, including valuation, impairment, and reconciliation of digital assets
- Own accounting policies related to revenue recognition, token-based compensation, staking, mining, and custody arrangements
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors and advisors with digital asset expertise
Treasury & Digital Asset Management
- Oversee treasury operations across fiat and crypto, including wallets, custody solutions, liquidity management, and internal controls
- Establish policies and controls for private key management, segregation of duties, and asset security
- Monitor digital asset exposure, volatility, and risk management strategies
FP&A & Business Operations
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Develop KPIs and dashboards relevant to blockchain businesses (e.g., transaction volume, protocol revenue, TVL, customer acquisition, burn rate)
- Partner with product and engineering to evaluate unit economics, incentives, and network effects
Compliance, Risk & Controls
- Partner with legal and compliance teams on regulatory readiness (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, global considerations)
- Design and maintain internal controls appropriate for a regulated or pre-regulated digital asset environment
- Support licensing, audits, and reporting requirements across jurisdictions
Capital Markets & Investor Relations
- Support equity and token financings, investor reporting, and board materials
- Manage relationships with investors, token holders, lenders, and strategic partners
- Prepare the company for future liquidity events, including token launches, M&A, or IPO readiness
Team Leadership
- Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team
- Establish scalable processes and systems to support growth and increasing complexity
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA and/or CFA preferred
- 12 years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles
- Experience in blockchain, crypto, fintech, or adjacent high-growth technology environments
- Strong understanding of digital asset accounting, token economics, and crypto treasury operations
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly regulated environments
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience at a crypto-native company, protocol, exchange, or Web3 infrastructure provider
- Exposure to token launches, DAO structures, or decentralized finance (DeFi) models
- Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and institutional investors in digital asset
