Role Overview
The Global Head of Product Control will lead the firm’s end-to-end product control function across all asset classes and regions. This role carries full accountability for valuation, P&L integrity, balance sheet substantiation, and financial controls for a broad, multi-product trading and investment platform. The position is both a senior leadership role and a transformation mandate—driving consistency, automation, and governance while elevating the function from reporting to strategic partnership.
The role manages 6 direct reports and approximately 50 professionals globally, operating across front-office-aligned product control teams and centralized control groups. Total Compensation up to 600k
Key Responsibilities
Global Leadership & Governance
- Own global product control governance across all asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Rates, Credit, Commodities, Structured Products, Derivatives, Financing, and Private Markets as applicable).
- Establish consistent global standards for P&L production, valuation control, reserves, balance sheet substantiation, and month-end close.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for material P&L, valuation, and control issues, including engagement with Front Office, Finance leadership, Risk, and senior management.
Transformation & Change Management
- Lead a multi-year transformation agenda to modernize product control processes, systems, and operating model.
- Drive automation, simplification, and standardization across regions and products to reduce operational risk and improve timeliness and transparency.
- Champion data quality, control design, and system integration initiatives in partnership with Technology and Data teams.
- Embed a strong risk and control mindset while enabling business growth and innovation.
Financial Control & Integrity
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of daily and monthly P&L, balance sheet positions, and valuation adjustments.
- Oversee independent price verification (IPV), reserves, fair value governance, and valuation methodologies.
- Partner closely with Market Risk, Model Risk, and Regulatory Reporting teams to ensure consistency and control alignment.
- Maintain strong audit and regulatory relationships, including ownership of responses to internal audit, external audit, and regulatory reviews.
People & Organizational Leadership
- Lead, develop, and retain senior product control leaders across regions and asset classes.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Assess and evolve the organizational structure to align talent, coverage, and scale with business needs.
- Invest in succession planning, leadership development, and capability building across the global team.
Salary : $300,000 - $350,000
