SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician for our Cincinnati, Ohio location. This role involves a diverse set of support skills, including the inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of mechanical and electrical components in air compressors and pump systems used in commercial and industrial environments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Communicates with customers to understand system issues, discuss malfunctions, and provide follow-up recommendations.
• Inspects equipment by visually examining, listening, and using diagnostic methods to identify problems.
• Dismantles units to access and assess internal components.

• Inspects, measures, and evaluates parts for wear, misalignment, or damage.
• Repairs equipment by removing and replacing defective parts, realigning couplings or shafts, and fabricating or modifying components using tools such as a drill press or grinder.
• Measures, cuts, threads, and install piping as needed for system functionality.
• Tests repaired equipment by starting and adjusting controls per manufacturer specifications and verifies proper operation with the customer.
• Take home service van provided. Technician is responsible for maintaining a service van, ensuring it is serviced regularly and kept in good working condition.
• Follows all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude is required
• Minimum of 3 years related experience (Mechanic or Diesel Engine Mechanic experience would be considered)
• Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility in work schedule is required
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Above average computer skills to include working knowledge of MS WORD and Excel
• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
• Bending, stooping, twisting, and standing for long periods of time will be required
• Position is subject to various climate conditions
• Basic electrical knowledge
