Your role
As a CNC Floater and Saw, you will report directly to the Machine Shop Manager at our Atlas Copco-Grayling, MI facility. You will assist with various CNC Machine shop department tasks, primarily doing saw, debur and metal prep work, shop clean up, and other activities to support a productive CNC machine shop environment and the overall production process.

As a CNC Floater and Saw, you will report directly to the Machine Shop Manager at our Atlas Copco-Grayling, MI facility. You will assist with various CNC Machine shop department tasks, primarily doing saw, debur and metal prep work, shop clean up, and other activities to support a productive CNC machine shop environment and the overall production process.
Here’s How You’ll Make An Impact
- Run various machine shop grinders/sanders to debur or prep machined parts
- Complete shop clean-up duties; floor, emptying of debris bins, lubricant changes, etc.
- Assist a CNC Machinist with part change-outs
- Receive mentee guidance from an experienced CNC Machinist to begin to learn set-up parameters, do’s and don’ts of milling, etc.
- Learn to read blueprints and quality inspect parts
- Move product within and across buildings
- Other duties as assigned to help the Machining department with tasks, as well as facilitate learning

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong hands-on experience or CNC Machinist student - preferably ready to start final year of degree or certificate program.
- Good working knowledge of computers.
- Willingness to take on various duties in the Machining department, even if not directly related to running a machine.
- Great team player and hard worker who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
