Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineering Manager to lead electrical commissioning activities across mission-critical, commercial, and industrial projects.
This role will oversee commissioning from planning through testing, closeout, and turnover while leading a team of commissioning engineers and technicians and coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical commissioning projects from planning through completion.
- Manage and mentor commissioning engineers and technicians.
- Oversee testing and validation of transformers, switchgear, protective relays, control systems, and related electrical equipment.
- Develop commissioning plans, test procedures, schedules, reports, and punch lists.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, design teams, and project leadership.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and drive deficiencies through resolution.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and closeout records.
- Support continuous improvement of commissioning processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 12 years of electrical commissioning experience with a bachelor’s degree, including 3–5 years of leadership experience, or 15 years with an associate degree.
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning practices.
- Experience with transformers, switchgear, protective relays, controls, and electrical distribution systems.
- Knowledge of NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, and NFPA 70E.
- Strong leadership, client-facing, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Valid U.S. work authorization required.
Preferred
- NICET or CCP certification.
- OEM field-service training.
- Mission-critical or data center experience.
- Electrical acceptance and maintenance testing experience.
Salary : $170,000 - $215,000
