Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) / Medical Scribe plays a dual role supporting clinical operations and documentation. This team member assists physicians with patient care, performs clinical tasks within their certification, and ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient visits within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role is essential to delivering efficient, high-quality care while supporting provider workflow and patient experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient intake including taking vital signs, reviewing medications, and preparing patients for exams
- Support providers with in-room patient care as needed and within CMA scope of practice
- Document provider-patient interactions in real-time into the EHR during patient encounters
- Complete and submit accurate and timely medical documentation under physician supervision
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, and assisting with procedures
- Schedule appointments, manage referrals, and provide patient education as instructed
- Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness and readiness
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and assisting patients
- Ability to sit at a computer for documentation
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25–50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as needed for patient care
