Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Tax Associate in Charlotte, NC for our client, an opportunity supporting federal and state tax compliance, tax review, and research across complex entity structures. In this in-office role, you will review multi-entity tax returns, oversee specialized tax calculations, respond to tax notices, and partner with internal stakeholders while leveraging tax software and strong technical tax knowledge to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filings.
Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Associate:
- Tax Return Review & Compliance: Review federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and individuals to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Specialized Tax Calculations: Review LIFO calculations, fixed asset depreciation schedules, and year-end tax computations across multiple entities.
- Tax Notice Resolution: Manage federal, state, and local tax notices by coordinating responses with taxing authorities and internal teams.
- Internal Tax Advisory: Serve as a tax resource to office managers and internal stakeholders, addressing questions related to filings, calculations, and compliance.
- Tax Research & Analysis: Research federal, state, and local tax issues to interpret guidance and support tax planning and ongoing projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 3-6 years of progressive tax experience preparing and reviewing complex returns, preferably within public accounting or a multi-entity environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with tax preparation software such as CCH ProSystem fx or comparable platforms, with strong Excel and spreadsheet skills for tax analysis and reporting.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations, entity taxation, depreciation methods, and tax compliance requirements.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
