This role focuses on patient check-in and check-out processes, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate records while ensuring a positive patient experience. The Medical Front Desk Coordinator will utilize EHR systems and scheduling tools to manage patient flow, coordinate appointments, and support administrative workflows.
Responsibilities as the Medical Front Desk Coordinator:
- Patient Intake: Welcome patients, verify information, and complete registration and check-in processes.
- Scheduling Coordination: Schedule appointments, manage follow-ups, and coordinate referrals across departments.
- Insurance Verification: Confirm coverage, process co-pays, and ensure accurate insurance documentation.
- EHR Management: Enter and maintain accurate patient data and documentation within the electronic health record system.
- Patient Communication: Educate patients on policies, appointment expectations, and required documentation.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of medical insurance terminology, patient registration, and scheduling workflows is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and experience with EHR platforms and scheduling tools is preferred.
