As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an Inventory Accounting Coordinator to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining accurate, efficient inventory operations and supporting accounting functions across our locations.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Monitoring & Control
- Conduct regular physical and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records.
- Use inventory management systems (such as SAP or WMS) to update stock records and generate reports.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Perform monthly book-to-book reconciliations and ensure proper alignment between physical inventory and accounting records.
- Travel as needed to company locations (approximately 3–4 times per year).
Procurement & Receiving
- Coordinatewith suppliers to place purchase orders for inventory replenishment.
- Oversee and verify inbound shipments, including documentation and contents.
- Communicate with vendors and manufacturers regarding stock availability and delivery schedules (minimal interaction required).
Distribution & Logistics
- Coordinate the storage and distribution of inventory items across multiple locations.
- Prepare and stage customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Track shipments and address any delays or delivery issues.
Accounting Integration & Reporting
- Collaborate with accounting to reconcile general ledger and inventory subledger accounts.
- Generate periodic inventory valuation and variance reports.
- Support annual audit and assist in documentation related to inventory control and valuation.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Support the development and implementation of inventory control and accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, production, and operations) to improve forecasting and efficiency.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to optimize inventory and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, cost accounting, or reconciliations.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis/reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $23–$25 (based on experience)
