Automotive Diesel Technician

Athens Ford is looking for an automotive diesel technician to join our fast-paced service department! Must have Experience Diagnosing and Repairing Ford Diesel Vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
• Proficient with Ford warranty diagnosis and repair process
• Possess knowledge in operating Ford VCM and FDRS software.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
• Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, keeping in mind that the customer vehicle should not be used for personal errands
• Keep shop area neat and clean
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor

Job Requirements:

• Experience in diesel maintenance work highly preferred
• Product knowledge and tire quick service experience is a plus
• The successful applicant must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
• Knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system; diagnostic equipment and A/C equipment is a must
