- Part-time opening is 12p-8p shift. Schedule is week 1: Monday & Saturday; week 2: Sunday & Friday.
- Full-time opening is 6a-2p with an every other weekend rotation.
- Prepare food to ensure quality food service is provided at all times under the direction of our Director of Dining Services
- Follow therapeutic diets ordered by physicians
- Ensure proper serving temperature of food
- Maintain visual appeal of food
- Monitor daily nourishments, follow standardized recipes, and assure proper portion control
- Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedure
- Perform other duties assigned by the manager
- Prior culinary experience
- Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Knowledge of dining service procedures as well as related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing home operations
- Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
- Ability to maintain care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of work areas
- Ability to perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with the willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
