Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive healthcare business development or marketing leadership experience, preferably in hospice or home health.
- Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and holding field-based sales or marketing staff accountable for performance outcomes.
- Proven ability to drive census growth, develop referral relationships, and operate successfully in a competitive hospice market.
- Strong understanding of hospice regulations, ethical marketing standards, and healthcare compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Must be willing and able to work primarily in the field, traveling throughout all agency service territories as required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance in accordance with state and agency requirements.
- Leads, directs, and oversees all business development and marketing operations for the hospice agency, with primary accountability for census growth and market penetration.
- Recruits, hires, orients, supervises, evaluates, conducts the coaching and counseling process and separations for Marketing Liaisons in accordance with agency policy and employment law.
- Provides direct field-based leadership to Marketing Liaisons, including ride-alongs, coaching, mentoring, performance monitoring, and corrective action when expectations are not met.
- Establishes clear performance expectations, goals, and metrics for Marketing Liaisons and holds staff accountable for achieving referral, census, and relationship-building targets essential to agency growth.
- Reviews, analyzes, and acts upon Marketing Liaison activity reports, referral data, conversion metrics, and census trends, ensuring timely follow-up and strategic adjustments.
- Works closely with the Agency Executive Director to establish census projections, growth goals, and business development strategies aligned with the agency’s annual budget and strategic plan.
- Establishes and maintains strong, cohesive working relationships with the Clinical Director and Clinical Team, ensuring alignment between business development activities and clinical capacity, quality, and service delivery.
