Position Summary
This FULL-TIME Temporary Executive Assistant position ranges from $20.49–$23.01 per hour depending on qualifications and is located in Lansing, MI. The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Associate Vice President (AVP), including coordination of daily activities, communications, and special projects. This role supports key institutional initiatives, including the College and Career Readiness Initiative (C3R) and the Neurodivergent-Friendly Campus Initiative (NDFCI). The position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize competing demands, and the capacity to manage sensitive information with discretion, and related duties as assigned.
This position is in person and located in Lansing, MI.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Manage, schedule, and prioritize the AVP’s daily calendar, including meetings and appointments.
- Analyze and prioritize incoming communications, memos, reports, and submissions to determine significance and appropriate distribution.
- Screen and manage telephone calls; respond, refer, or escalate inquiries as appropriate.
- Draft and respond to routine correspondence, including emails and formal communications.
- Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to support meetings, events, and institutional initiatives.
- Provide administrative support for workgroups, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and recording meeting notes.
- Assist in planning and executing events and activities in collaboration with conference services and other stakeholders.
- Prepare, edit, and finalize documents, reports, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintain organized records and perform data entry as required.
- Support AVP workflow management and ensure timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated progressively responsible administrative or executive support experience.
- Experience utilizing a wide range of office and administrative technologies.
- Proven track record of strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership or increased administrative responsibility over time.
- Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times.
