POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting a Housing Navigator. This full-time position pays $26.00 an hour and is in Escondido, CA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing; present and explain information clearly to individuals and groups.
- Build and maintain working relationships with staff, agencies, employers, property owners/managers, hotel/motel operators, and service providers.
- Exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information; maintain confidentiality of client records.
- Conduct in-depth, trauma-informed client interviews and needs assessments.
- Work with individuals experiencing homelessness to secure immediate shelter and address barriers to stable housing.
- Manage and process referrals from County and community partners in accordance with Tier One and Tier Two guidelines.
- Maintain and manage an active caseload, prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Assess clients and determine appropriate service levels on a case-by-case basis.
- Develop individualized action and stabilization plans with clients.
- Provide and document individual and group counseling, referrals, and case management services.
- Coordinate with external partners to deliver comprehensive support services.
- Assist clients in resolving emergency situations and expedite access to critical services.
- Determine eligibility and approval for supportive services and financial assistance.
- Track, document, and report all services, expenditures, and client interactions accurately.
- Utilize data systems to input, manage, and maintain case records and documentation.
- Schedule appointments, complete required forms, and maintain organized client files.
- Conduct outreach to property owners and managers to promote housing opportunities for clients.
- Provide ongoing support to help clients achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently; must be self-motivated.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of homelessness services, community resources, and local demographics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and data entry systems.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience working with homeless or underserved populations preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
- Ability to travel throughout the County.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Travel may be required.
