Overview- Senior Buyer
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Buyer to join their growing operations team. This is a strategic, hands-on procurement role focused on driving supplier performance, managing critical purchasing initiatives, supporting manufacturing operations, and helping optimize the overall supply chain.

The Senior Buyer will work closely with Engineering, Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure materials and components are available to support operations while continuously improving efficiency and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
• Develop and execute procurement strategies to support production demands and operational goals
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to secure the best pricing, quality, and lead times
• Issue and manage purchase orders while ensuring timely material delivery
• Drive cost savings initiatives and supplier performance improvements
• Support sourcing activities for new product development initiatives
• Analyze market trends, supplier risks, and material availability to proactively support the business
Supplier & Vendor Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and strategic partners
• Conduct supplier evaluations and monitor quality, delivery, and performance metrics
• Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and pricing issues
• Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to strengthen supply chain resiliency
Inventory & Material Planning
• Partner closely with Production, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure material availability
• Support inventory optimization initiatives to balance supply levels while minimizing excess inventory
• Assist with supplier-managed inventory (SMI) and just-in-time (JIT) initiatives
• Analyze purchasing trends and forecast material requirements based on operational demand
Contracts, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
• Negotiate supplier agreements and contracts
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry requirements
• Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure materials meet product specifications
• Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives within procurement processes
• Track procurement KPIs including supplier performance, lead times, and cost savings metrics
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 5 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Strong background with ERP/MRP systems and material planning
• Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, JIT inventory strategies, and supply chain best practices
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Production, Planning, and Quality teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
