Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing & Supply Management
- Place and manage purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system to support production and project timelines
- Maintain accurate PO status updates within project management tools
- Own fulfillment of ordered materials in coordination with program and shop managers
- Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management
- Perform cost justification and competitive analysis to ensure best-value sourcing decisions
- Identify, qualify, and onboard alternative sources of supply
- Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, contracts, lead times, stocking agreements, and payment terms
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives through sourcing strategy optimization and supplier negotiations
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term supplier partnerships
- Ensure suppliers meet expectations for quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Manage strategic vendor relationships to support operational and production needs
- Inventory & Operations Support
- Oversee inventory levels to prevent stockouts and excess inventory
- Optimize inventory turnover while ensuring material availability
- Support risk mitigation initiatives across the supply chain
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Engineering/Solutions, Buying, Planning, Inventory, and Production teams
- Support process improvements, cost-savings initiatives, and operational efficiency
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze supply chain and purchasing data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Build reports and dashboards to support decision-making and performance tracking
- Provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
- Leadership
- Support team development and best-practice adoption within purchasing and supply chain functions
- Demonstrated success in supply chain, purchasing, and materials management
- 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in:
- Electronics or electrical manufacturing
- Industrial distribution
- Power systems or related industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of electrical components, including:
- Circuit breakers
- Switchgear
- Relays
- Transformers
- Electronic assemblies
- Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing strategic vendor relationships
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with project management, operational excellence, and/or Lean/Six Sigma preferred
- Programming or SQL experience to create BAQs preferred
- Epicor ERP experience strongly desired
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment including laptops, keyboards, monitors and phones.
- The employee is required to sit at a desk/work area for extended periods of time.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; extensive reading.
