Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Manager located at the Warner Robins, AFB.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or 12 years without a degree.
- U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance.
- Configuration Manager Certification
- Experience with DoD configuration management policies and processes.
- Experience with configuration management for a major weapon system (per some AF DCGS-related roles.)
- Experience performing Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) configuration audits.
- Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage Configuration Manager (CM) tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, media labeling. Experience producing release notes and Configuration Manager (CM) reports.
- An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation. Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments.
- Experience developing briefings for management.
- Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Ability to enter and manipulate data in a database.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Configuration Manager (CM) certification from a Nationally recognized organization (e.g., National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII), Configuration Management Process Improvement Center (CMPIC))
- Provide configuration and data management throughout the program lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, maintenance, and operations.
- Manage configuration items (hardware and software) and maintain/improve CM processes, including CABs (Configuration Audit Boards) and CCBs (Change Control Boards).
- Control all program documentation, ensure CDRLs (Configuration Data Requirements Lists) and work products are tracked and delivered on time.
- Manage software baselines, run PI planning events, manage software requirements and release processes, and establish a software working group.
- Establish and manage shared folders (SharePoint, Teams), maintain configuration control, and develop Agile boards.
- Create and maintain parts/inventory lists, establish configuration items, and develop Configuration Management Plans.
- Schedule and run audits, produce status accounting audits, and ensure compliance with CM/DM requirements.
- Use tools like Confluence and Jira for collaboration and task management.
