Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 / hour
Astrana Health is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented GI Technician to support our Advanced Diagnostic & Surgical Center team. This role is essential in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care during gastrointestinal procedures in an ambulatory surgical setting. The GI Technician partners closely with physicians and nursing staff to prepare procedure rooms, manage and maintain equipment, and support patient flow while adhering to strict infection prevention protocols and compliance standards.

- Prepare and stock procedure rooms with all necessary equipment and supplies prior to cases
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during GI procedures (ex. colonoscopy, EGD, etc.)
- Handle specimens according to standard protocols
- Support patient intake and prep while ensuring patient comfort
- Obtain patient vital signs as required
- Provide basic patient support and assist with transporting patient and turning over between procedures
- Operate and maintain endoscopy equipment and sterilization systems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate problems for resolution promptly
- Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention and safety protocols at all times
- Maintain sterile and clean clinical environments
- Maintain and restock supplies, communicating inventory needs where appropriate
- Document support activities in EMR as needed
- Assist with room turnover and preparation, ensuring readiness for subsequent patient cases
- Experience in an ambulatory surgical or care setting preferred
- Prior patient care experience as a medical assistant, technician or CNA preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Knowledge of endoscopy procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to infection control protocols
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to lift and move equipment and assist with patient support
- Position will involve frequent standing, walking and lifting within an ambulatory surgical setting with exposure toclinical equipment, disinfectants, and bodily fluids. Appropriate and necessary PPE will be provided
- This is a full-time onsite role located at 1668 S Garfield Ave, Ste 100, Alhambra, CA 91801.
- The total compensation target pay range for this role is $23 - $26 per hour. The range represents our national target range for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location (current or future), experience, and other job-related factors.
