Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare endoscopy suites with appropriate sterile supplies, instruments, and functioning equipment.
- Assist physicians during procedures such as colonoscopies, EGDs and other endoscopic procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related instruments in compliance with hospital infection prevention policies and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment, promptly reporting malfunctions.
- Monitor and support patent comfort and safety under nursing supervision.
- Accurately document scope usage, cleaning logs, and equipment tracking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
Certification as a GI Technician, Surgical Technician - preferred.
minimum of 2 years experience in endoscopy (with interventional) and sterile processing - required.
Knowledge of infection control, equipment sterilization, and patient care protocols.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to handle instruments and equipment.
