Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Up to $20,000 Sign-On Bonus Based on Eligibility
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment, while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to support positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans within established timeframes
- Deliver safe, effective nursing care to PCU patients with complex or high-acuity needs
- Perform patient interventions accurately and proficiently while demonstrating age-specific competency
- Monitor patient condition, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and response to treatment, escalating concerns appropriately
- Verify physician orders for accuracy, including medications, treatments, procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Ensure completion of required documentation, consent forms, and pre-procedure/pre-operative requirements
- Administer medications and IV therapy in accordance with hospital policies and safety standards
- Monitor for medication side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in patient condition
- Interpret diagnostic and clinical data and communicate critical findings to the physician per protocol
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record
- Perform related duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
- Licensure: Active South Carolina RN License or Compact RN License required
- If licensed in another Compact state, must obtain a Multi-State License in the state of residence within 30 days if applicable
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association) required within 7 days of hire
- ACLS (American Heart Association) required within orientation or established timeframe
- Experience: Previous clinical experience will be reviewed to determine overall qualifications
Preferred
- One (1) year of PCU, telemetry, step-down, or acute care RN experience preferred
- NIHSS preferred
- CCRN preferred
