This Senior Business Development Manager role focuses on driving strategic growth in the Seattle market for commercial interiors, workplace solutions, and enterprise furniture projects. The position suits a high-performing sales executive and proven hunter who excels at opening doors, building influential relationships, and winning complex, multi-stakeholder deals. You will lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close, while collaborating closely with internal design, account management, and leadership teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities across Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and convert strategic accounts within the commercial interiors, workplace, and enterprise furniture sectors.
  • Develop and deepen relationships with end users, A&D firms, brokers, project managers, and other key influencers in the commercial real estate and workplace ecosystem.
  • Lead pursuits from initial prospecting and lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, and deal close.
  • Collaborate closely with internal design teams to align furniture layouts and workplace solutions with client needs and project requirements.
  • Partner with account management and leadership teams to ensure a seamless handoff from sales to delivery and to support long-term client satisfaction and retention.
  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to inform go-to-market strategies and refine sales approaches.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, helping them navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and make informed decisions about commercial interiors and furniture solutions.
  • Use tools such as Salesforce, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, and ProjectSpec5 to manage opportunities, track activities, and maintain accurate sales reporting.
  • Engage in regular outreach activities, including cold calling and outside sales visits, to generate new leads and expand the client base.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service orientation throughout the sales process, ensuring an exceptional client experience at every touchpoint.
  • Maintain a high level of accountability and performance, operating effectively with significant autonomy in the field.

Essential Skills

  • Proven success in business development, enterprise sales, or commercial interiors/furniture sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Experience developing and managing relationships with end users, A&D firms, brokers, project managers, and other key influencers.
  • Existing relationships within Seattle’s commercial real estate, architecture and design, corporate, or workplace ecosystem.
  • Strong account management and sales management capabilities, including full-cycle sales experience from prospecting through close.
  • Proficiency in cold calling and outside sales, with a hunter mindset focused on opening new doors and creating opportunities.
  • Comfort operating with autonomy in a performance-driven environment, with high personal accountability.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with Senior-level and Fortune 1000 stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Customer service–oriented approach, focused on delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce for managing leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for presentations, proposals, and reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience selling into Fortune 1000 companies, brokers, developers, and corporate clients.
  • Familiarity with commercial interiors, workplace strategy, and enterprise furniture solutions.
  • Experience working with furniture layouts and furniture design concepts in collaboration with design teams.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet for project tracking and coordination.
  • Experience using ProjectSpec5 or similar tools related to furniture specification and planning.
  • Background in lead generation within commercial real estate, workplace, or related industries.
  • Ability to bring market intelligence and competitive insights to inform business and sales strategies.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong initiative and the ability to thrive in a field-based, road warrior sales role.

This role operates primarily as a field-based, road warrior sales position focused on the Seattle market and the greater Pacific Northwest. You will spend significant time meeting with clients and partners on-site, supported by a remote work setup.
