Payroll Specialist (Manufacturing Environment) Location: Smithville, TN Schedule: Onsite | Full-Time Overview A well-established manufacturing organization in the Middle Tennessee area is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll operations. This role plays a critical function in ensuring accurate, compliant payroll processing while serving as a key point of contact for employee inquiries and collaborating closely with HR and Accounting. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and has strong attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Maintain payroll data, including wages, deductions, taxes, and benefit contributions Prepare and submit payroll-related reports (monthly, quarterly, year-end) Provide payroll journal entries to Accounting on a weekly basis Administer 401(k) contribution files and reconciliation Manage wage garnishments and ensure proper documentation in the HRIS system Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records Monitor PTO, sick time, and accrual balances Oversee benefit deductions and assist with reconciliation of health insurance invoices Process employee expense reimbursements through payroll Partner with HR on sensitive items such as terminations, garnishments, and benefit adjustments Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation Assist with year-end processes including W-2s and 1099s Respond to employee payroll-related questions in a timely and professional manner Qualifications 3 years of payroll experience in a high-volume or multi-frequency environment Full cycle payroll experience Experience with ADP required Strong Excel skills (data manipulation, reporting, etc.) - VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, formulas Experience with payroll regulations Experience with payroll reporting 401k deductions and W2 experience
