Job Description
This contract-to-hire HR Coordinator role offers an opportunity to provide immediate support to payroll operations while gradually expanding into a fully integrated human resources position. You will begin with a strong focus on payroll-related administrative tasks and evolve into a broader HR coordination role that supports a primarily hourly workforce in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is ideal for a bilingual English/Spanish professional who enjoys high-volume employee interaction, values accuracy and compliance, and is comfortable working onsite in a dynamic HR setting.
Responsibilities
This is a fully onsite role based in South San Francisco within a manufacturing setting. You will work in an open-office HR environment with frequent, high-volume employee interaction throughout the day. The facility operates under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, which include specific requirements such as no jewelry on the production floor when applicable. The role offers a flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, providing some flexibility in your daily schedule. You will collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams and gain exposure to a fast-growing organization with a large hourly workforce, clear growth potential into a long-term HR Coordinator position, and visibility across both HR and payroll functions.

Responsibilities
- Support daily payroll processes by reviewing, correcting, and validating timecards for a primarily hourly workforce.
- Perform accurate data entry and generate payroll-related reports to support internal payroll processes and audits.
- Track employee time off and maintain up-to-date records in the timekeeping and HR systems.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal payroll policies and procedures, escalating issues as needed.
- Assist payroll and HR teams with administrative and operational tasks to support smooth day-to-day operations.
- Transition into a full HR Coordinator role by taking on employee-facing HR inquiries related to pay, benefits, leaves of absence, and other HR matters.
- Manage and maintain HRIS data, ensuring employee records are accurate, complete, and current.
- Support onboarding activities, including data entry, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Promote workforce engagement in a high-volume, hourly environment by serving as a visible and approachable HR resource.
- Serve as a frontline point of contact for employees, providing guidance and support in both English and Spanish.
- Partner closely with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to coordinate processes, resolve issues, and maintain efficient operations.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional, compliant HR function in a non-union manufacturing environment.
- 2–3 years of HR support or HR coordination experience.
- Experience working in a high-volume, hourly workforce environment such as manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to support employee inquiries in both languages.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems, with strong preference for Paylocity to enable a rapid ramp-up.
- Exposure to payroll processes, including timekeeping, reporting, and audits.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- High attention to detail with strong data entry and validation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, open-office HR setting.
- Experience working in a non-union environment.
- Experience supporting payroll operations in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with Paylocity and ADP or similar HRIS and payroll platforms.
- Background in HR administration, onboarding, and general human resources support.
- Ability to build rapport quickly with a large, hourly workforce and provide high-quality frontline HR support.
- Interest in growing from a payroll-focused support role into a broader HR Coordinator position.
- Comfort working within established processes while identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
