Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of plastic injection molds, weld fixtures, and continual improvement efforts to maximize production efficiency.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule die maintenance 5%
- Complete general mold and weld fixture maintenance: 25%
- Recommend Die Improvements: 5%
- Machine and Auxiliary Equipment Functions and Checks of Such Equipment: 3%
- Repair broken molds and flash in house when possible: 25%
- Trouble Shoot dies issues: 10%
- Work with Engineers on new model development through die trials: 5%
- Complete Documentation and Reports: 5%
- Train mfg technical associates on die function & optimal condition: 10%
- Other Duties as Assigned: 5%
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic experience in computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
- Technical training or a qualified Tool & Die experience
- 2 years plastic injection mold maintenance, repair experience in a high volume plastic injection molding facility
- Ability to tig weld, ability to operate tool room equipment such as Bridgeport, lathe, surface grinder and hands tools such as grinders, drills
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
- Journeyman card or equivalent amount of experience
- 3 years of plastic injection mold repair and maintenance experience
- Intermediate experience in computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties
Skills and Abilities:
- Understand injection molding hot runner systems, can repair and troubleshoot
- Proven ability to make sound decisions, exercise good judgement and be highly motivated in a self-directed work environment
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Crane operation
- Ability to clearly communicate through written and verbal skills with people outside the department / suppliers
- Analyze test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
- Create and implement inspection testing criteria or procedures.
- Evaluate and implement integrated process & documentation.
- Supports higher level engineers with integration of numerous processes and/or products.
- Coordinate with suppliers for accurate part manufacturing and delivery deadlines.
- Lead role in leading and managing medium size projects from concept through implementation for mold improvements (design changes for Quality of parts)
- Control Spare parts for Molds and Weld fixtures
