Plans, manages, and executes activities for multiple projects to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame by performing any combination of all essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
This position will be part of the xEV Regional Production Engineering (PE) group for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activities and support for Electric Motor programs. The Controls Engineer - Vision will establish specifications, equipment, processes, quotations, and other documentation for programs related to electric motor products. This position is specifically for the development, support, and implementation of cameras and vision systems supporting assembly, material handling, testing, and inspection tasks and other functions as needed. Also, this role will identify synergy potentials across programs and establish and apply best practices to drive cost effective solutions.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Skills)
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years applicable experience in controls and robotics engineering.
Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Working conditions: Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel: Domestic and international may be required as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Skills)
- Engineering skills with a strong focus on control systems, PLC programming, HMI development, industrial networking, and machine vision systems.
- Experience integrating and troubleshooting vision inspection equipment in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to make quick, accurate, data-driven decisions and utilize excellent structured problem-solving skills.
- Well organized, attention to detail, and able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Computer literacy with both personal computers and manufacturing systems, including knowledge of standard office software (MS Office) and programming experience.
- Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness.
- Work experience in the automotive industry, ideally in EV motor or component manufacturing.
- Experience working in a machine builder/automation equipment integrator environment.
- Knowledge of optical inspection technologies, lighting techniques, and image processing.
- Experience with Keyence, Cognex and similar control platforms and components.
- Formal vision certification, such as A3 Certified Vision Professional (CVP).
- Certification in structured problem-solving methods, i.e. Six Sigma.
