This hands-on role will assist in reviewing SIEM alerts, applying firewall rules, supporting patching efforts, and performing other foundational InfoSec tasks. This individual will work closely with our Infrastructure, Implementations, and Solutions teams to ensure secure operations across our IT environment. Key Responsibilities:
Daily Security Operations
- Monitor and review security alerts in the SIEM platform
- Assist with firewall rule creation, modification, and cleanup
- Support basic security incident investigation and documentation
- Perform routine checks on endpoint protection tools and security configurations
- Assist in system patching for servers, endpoints, and network devices
- Monitor patch compliance and help maintain records of updates
- Work with the team to identify missing patches and ensure deployment
- Apply and review firewall rules under senior team member guidance
- Help audit basic firewall and VPN configurations
- Document network changes and rule modifications
- Provide support on ongoing InfoSec projects
- Work closely with the Infrastructure, Implementations, and Solutions teams to align security controls and operational requirements
- Participate in security tool evaluations and implementations
- Contribute to improving documentation and operational playbooks
- Stay informed of basic cybersecurity threats and best practices
- Work closely with senior InfoSec team members to grow technical skills
- Engage in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team awareness
- 3–5 years of professional IT experience, including roles in systems, network, or support engineering
- 1–3 years of InfoSec experience, with exposure to operational security responsibilities
- Familiarity with firewalls and basic network security concepts
- Exposure to SIEM tools and log analysis
- Basic understanding of patch management for Windows and/or Linux systems
- Interest in vulnerability management and secure system configurations
- Experience with any of the following: Fortinet, patch management tools, Tenable Nessus, Debian, or Windows Server
- Understanding of security frameworks and compliance (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001)
