Scott County Catholic Schools (SCCS) is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and faith-centered Guidance Counselor to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small group counseling to students, supporting their academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community resources to address student needs and encourage optimal student development.
- Assist with student grade/course work transitions and participate in case conferences, IEPs, and 504 plans as needed.
- Promote a positive school climate through various programs.
- Support overall school operations and collaborate with counselors across SCCS.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff.
Qualifications
- Valid School Counselor or Social Worker license from the BOEE, or relevant teaching license/substitute authorization recognized by the BOEE.
- Knowledge of adolescent psychology, therapy/treatment options for student mental health, and the impact of environment on student well-being.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to the values and teachings of the Catholic faith.
- Experience working with youth in educational or counseling settings preferred.
