SMUD is seeking an experienced Endpoint Support Technician to ensure seamless operations across our offices in Sacramento, CA. This vital role supports our mission to maintain reliable IT services for one of California’s leading utility providers, offering you the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide onsite IT operational support at SMUD locations in Sacramento
- Assist with computer user data and software inventory management
- Deliver Audio/Visual support and troubleshooting for high-profile Board and Committee meetings (after 5 pm)
- Offer hardware and software technical assistance for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Support conference room setups and technical configurations
- Handle tickets efficiently within ServiceNow, ensuring prompt resolution
- Deliver white-glove technical service to C-Suite staff and executive teams
- Occasionally drive personal vehicle between SMUD sites as needed
- Contribute to staff training, documentation, and process improvement initiatives
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years in IT operations support
- Proficient in supporting Windows OS and enterprise-level desktop/laptop environments
- Experience with AV support for meetings, hybrid setups preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks required for equipment setup and maintenance
- Excellent communication skills to relay technical information clearly and professionally
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with teams
Nice to Have Skills:
- CompTIA certifications (A , Network , Security )
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and audio-visual equipment
- Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing system
- Prior experience supporting executive-level clients in a confidential environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred
- At least 2 years of hands-on IT support experience in an enterprise setting, preferably in government or large organizational environments
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work onsite at SMUD facilities; some remote work may be possible
- Availability to work after hours and weekends, especially for scheduled meetings
- Ability to pass SMUD medical examination and fitness screening
