Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Pediatric Caregiver to provide one-on-one, home-based support for children with developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for RBTs, ABA therapy assistants, special education aides, paraprofessionals, or caregivers with behavioral or developmental experience who is looking for meaningful work in a structured yet family-centered environment.
Care is intentional, routine-based, and aligned with positive behavior-support principles, while remaining warm, respectful, and child-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support for children with developmental disabilities in a home setting
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including hygiene, dressing, toileting, feeding, and structured routines
- Implement positive behavior-support strategies and reinforcement techniques outlined in individualized care plans
- Support children with emotional regulation, sensory sensitivities, communication challenges, and transitions
- Encourage independence, functional life skills, and social development through age-appropriate activities
- Observe, document, and communicate behavioral patterns, progress, and concerns to families and care teams
- Maintain a safe, predictable, and supportive environment aligned with best practices in pediatric behavioral care
- Collaborate professionally with parents, therapists, educators, and supervisors
Basic Qualifications
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable caregiver who genuinely enjoys helping others
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm in structured or complex care situations
- 1–2 years of professional caregiving experience, including experience with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), neurological conditions, dementia, or memory care (preferred)
- Experience as an RBT, ABA therapist, special education aide, classroom paraprofessional, or similar role is highly desirable
- Licensed driver with insured and reliable transportation (proof required)
- Current TB test or chest X-ray
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call shifts
Required Certifications and Licensures
- California Caregiver Registration (HCA)
