Position Overview:
ARCA is seeking a Community Behavioral Health Liaison to serve as a vital link between individuals in crisis and behavioral health or substance use treatment services. This position will work directly within the St. Louis community, collaborating alongside law enforcement officers to respond to crises, assess individuals’ needs, and connect them with appropriate resources and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with law enforcement officers to provide on-scene crisis intervention for individuals experiencing behavioral health or substance use challenges.
- Conduct assessments and identify appropriate treatment or care options for individuals in crisis.
- Establish connections with community resources, behavioral health providers, and substance use treatment programs to facilitate seamless care transitions.
- Maintain organized, accurate and timely documentation of services provided and outcomes achieved.
- Provide education and support to law enforcement and first responders on behavioral health issues and crisis management strategies.
- Serve as a liaison between ARCA, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations to strengthen partnerships and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri (required), may consider provisionally licensed individuals.
- Experience:
- Previous experience working with military or law enforcement personnel is required.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong capacity to work collaboratively with first responders in high-pressure situations.
- Must have a personal vehicle with proof of full-coverage insurance.
- Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Knowledge of behavioral health and substance use treatment systems and resources.
- Screening:
- Candidates must pass an extensive background screening, including a formal interview process with law enforcement partners.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
