Job Overview
The CNC Mill Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Haas CNC milling machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings. This role involves fixture design, tooling selection, process optimization, and quality inspection while supporting production and engineering teams as needed. The position operates on a consistent weekday schedule with occasional overtime.
Key Responsibilities
Program CNC milling jobs using Mastercam or similar CAM software
Set up and operate Haas CNC mills to produce precision parts
Select tooling, set feeds and speeds, and optimize machining processes
Design and build fixtures as required for production parts
Change tools and identify tool wear or cutting issues
Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and other basic measuring tools
Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, and quality issues
Perform manual machining and secondary operations such as deburring, drilling, and tapping
Communicate concerns or improvements to engineering or senior machinists
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Assist in other shop areas as needed to support workflow
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of CNC milling setup and operation experience
At least 1 year of experience using Mastercam or similar CAM software
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Experience using calipers and basic inspection tools
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for the duration of the shift
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
High school diploma or GED
Ability to read and write in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience optimizing CNC milling processes for efficiency and quality
Fixture design or build experience
Manual machining background
Experience supporting machine rebuild or custom equipment environments
