ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a System Tester to join our NextGen Weather Processor (NWP) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ for this on-site position.

The fully-automated NWP identifies aviation safety hazards and translates weather information needed to predict route blockage and airspace capacity constraints up to 8 hours in advance.

• Provides a consistent weather picture, with timely analyses and short-term predictive elements tailored to specific aviation requirements.
• Translates the weather picture into reliable airspace constraints for integration into air traffic decision-making.
• Enables safe, timely, and efficient operation of the National Airspace System (NAS) in all kinds of weather and seasons.
• Consolidates multiple FAA weather programs with overlapping capabilities into a single NextGen weather system.
  
  

We are looking for an experienced individual to work independently and in a team environment. This individual:

• Provides expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems.
• May need to work with specialists from other disciplines such as hardware, software, logistic support, and testing to produce fully integrated and responsive components and systems.
• Interprets and analyzes complex information systems data to developer technical documentation, system diagrams, and presentation materials.
  
  

Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement

All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.

• Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
• Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
• The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time.
  
  

Relocation Requirement

Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Education Requirement

All Non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twelve (12) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field. OR
• Master’s Degree in any field of study with a minimum thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and nine (9) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.
  

Required Skills

• Possess a technical understanding of FAA weather systems and products.
• Experience testing FAA weather systems including documentation, troubleshooting, test procedure development, test conduct and producing test reports.
• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as a team.
• Ability to research and problem solve.
• Diplomacy when interacting with internal/external customers and stakeholders
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Flexibility to work in different environments.
• Ability to identify time sensitive issues, resolutions, and possible escalation in high pressure situations.
• Knowledge of Aviation Weather Products (i.e. precipitation products).
• Knowledge of FAA modification process and test and evaluation
  
  

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties

• Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for NWP.
• Identify and document defects, bugs and inconsistencies, technical assistance, and system maintenance in a ticketing system/database.
• Execute technical procedures related to installation, restoration, and system maintenance.
• Support software maintenance/development, testing, integration, and deployment activities.
• Review and comment on system engineering documents, system requirement documents, system design documents, system testing documents, user manuals, training, and technical instruction manuals.
• Use requirements to develop test plans and procedures to test system functionality, performance and reliability.
• Attend meetings and reviews; technical interchange meetings; any other meetings as requested to support program and team.
• Develop and manage system engineering artifacts; system requirements artifacts; system testing artifacts; required product baseline artifacts.
• Support system development/testing/integration/deployment activities for NWP
• Provide remote and on site field support.
