We are seeking an FSQA Technician to join our team at our Alsip, IL bakery. As an FSQA Technician, you will be accountable for protecting food safety and product quality by conducting sampling, testing, inspections, and documentation in alignment with Aspire Bakeries’ Integrated Management System Program (AIMS).
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 2nd
- Hours: 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Weekend availability: Required
- Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $22.00
- Conduct food safety and quality sampling, testing, and verification to meet AIMS, regulatory, and customer requirements
- Identify and report non‑conforming raw materials, in‑process, and finished products
- Perform pre‑operational, GMP, hygiene, and food‑safety inspections across bakery operations
- Verify compliance with cGMPs, HACCP, Preventive Controls, and CCP requirements
- Accurately complete quality documentation, records, and system entries
- Communicate food, equipment, or personnel safety concerns immediately to leadership
- Support Food Safety Team activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of QA or related experience in food manufacturing
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Ability to operate quality instrumentation (scales, metal detectors, imaging devices, ovens, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to change
- Ability to function effectively as part of a high‑performing team
- Some college coursework in science or experience in the food industry
- Experience working with SAP
- Knowledge of food‑safety regulations (21 CFR 117, HACCP, GMPs)
- Experience participating in food‑safety inspections or audits
