What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Aid Advisor/Coordinator position at ASPIRA, Inc. of Pennsylvania?
**Responsibilities**
- Meet with prospective students and guardians to assure and discuss financial aid eligibility & determine eligibility/acceptance of aid package for students
- Award aid package to students, request disbursements and disburse aid (Direct Loans, Pell Grant, SEOG, FWS, PA Funding)
- Cross-check disbursements entered into the student ledgers for accuracy based on fund disbursement roster.
- Compile daily tuition reports & monitor tuition Payments due each month or trimester
- Process Drops & complete R2T4 worksheet for Title IV Aid students who withdraw
- Conduct Exit Interview and collect documentation including Exit Loan Counseling for students who withdraw
- Ensure failed Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) evaluations are reviewed for federal and state eligibility.
- Initiate collections process as needed
- Knowledge of Title IV Student Financial Aid with specific knowledge in Direct Loan, Pell Grant, Pa State Grant, and Campus-Based Funding
- Experience with administering Direct Loans and Pell Grant, Campus-Based Funding
- Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office Suite and FAME [PowerFAIDS, Ellucian, or Campuslogic] software
- Ability to meet deadlines and goals and to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills are essential for effectively advising students.
- Advance Knowledge Title IV eligibility based on the completed FAFSA & requirements for students and parents
- Knowledge of administering and eligibility for FWS and SEOG Programs & of academic progress to award PA State Grant
- Advance knowledge of School Certifying Official (SCO) Military and Veterans Benefits as well as FSA.gov and all supporting aid sites
