Field Project Manager

Asphalt Protectors, Inc.
Reno, NV Full Time
POSTED ON 7/28/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/25/2026

Field Project Manager

Asphalt Protectors, Inc. is a long-established asphalt paving and pavement maintenance company serving California and Nevada. We perform paving, asphalt repair, seal coating, crack filling, line striping, and related pavement services for residential, commercial, industrial, government, and multi-family customers.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Project Manager to join our team.

Position Summary

We are hiring a Field Project Manager to lead asphalt paving grading work in the field. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can own project execution, stay close to the work every day, support crews in real time, communicate clearly with customers, and keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and profitably.

The Field Project Manager is the bridge between the office, the customer, and the field. Unlike a mostly administrative project manager role, this position has a strong daily field presence and is expected to be on-site regularly to support execution, solve problems, coordinate resources, monitor quality, and keep the crew aligned to scope, schedule, and safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field execution on paving and grading projects
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors, trucking, equipment, rentals, and materials
  • Review plans, work orders, site conditions, and contract requirements before work begins
  • Conduct site visits and identify risks such as utilities, access constraints, drainage issues, pre-existing damage, and customer restrictions
  • Support foremen and crews throughout the day to keep work moving and solve field issues quickly
  • Monitor production, job pacing, material usage, and schedule performance
  • Enforce safety standards, traffic control practices, quality expectations, and professional jobsite conduct
  • Communicate with customers about progress, schedule changes, and field conditions
  • Track job performance, documentation, and change events that affect cost or schedule
  • Help deliver a quality finished product that meets company standards and customer expectations

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, pavement maintenance, or construction field leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of paving methods, materials, equipment, and jobsite sequencing
  • Ability to lead crews while staying hands-on and engaged in the field day to day
  • Experience reading plans, work orders, and project specifications
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • OSHA 30 certification required, or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
  • Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Background

  • Experience in civil construction, excavation and grading, paving, dirt work, or mass grading industries

Success Metrics

  • Productivity and efficiency of field operations
  • Quality of completed projects
  • Customer satisfaction ratings
  • Profitability and cost control

Work Enviornment

This role works in active outdoor construction environments and requires regular movement between jobsites, direct field oversight, and exposure to equipment, traffic, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions. It is best suited for someone who prefers to lead from the field rather than manage projects primarily from a desk.

What We Offer

  • Health, dental, & vision benefits
  • Paid time off
  • Competitive compensation tied to growth and contribution
  • Bonus and performance incentive opportunities
  • Seasonal or year-round work depending on workload and fit
  • A company that values honesty, customer service, accountability, adaptability, attitude, and teamwork.
