What You'll Do
Accounting & Advisory
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial information, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare management reports and communicate financial results.
- Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting.
- Apply GAAP principles to accounting and reporting activities.
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Work with partnerships, corporations, S-Corporations, trusts and estates, nonprofits, and homeowner associations.
- Conduct tax research and monitor tax law changes.
- Assist with tax projections, planning, and tax-saving strategies.
- Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve tax matters.
- Perform or assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures engagements.
- Work on Yellow Book and Uniform Guidance audits.
- Prepare audit workpapers, schedules, practice aids, and supporting documentation.
- Identify accounting and compliance issues and assist with developing solutions.
- Assist with internal control and financial reporting evaluations.
- Provide bookkeeping and write-up services.
- Process and review payroll.
- Assist clients with accounting maintenance and financial reporting.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff.
- Review staff work when assigned.
- Contribute to workflow and process improvements.
- Build strong, professional client relationships.
- Support special projects and other assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of public accounting experience.
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- CPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
- Active CPA license.
- Experience with audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting platforms.
- Experience with UltraTax or similar tax software.
- Prior experience mentoring or training accounting staff.
- $35.00–$41.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
