A full-time Human Resources Coordinator position is available in Commerce Township, MI. The position provides support to the HR department. The Human Resource Coordinator must be creative and thrive within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is based on core values and focused on results. The ideal candidate will exercise sound judgment in all circumstances and will possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills while successfully balancing multiple priorities and timelines.
Essential Functions
- Supports the human resources department
- Provides administrative support
- Answers the telephone and relays messages
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards
- Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment status
- Maintains employee information confidentially
- Assist with completing electronic onboarding
- Tracking employee retention and turnover
- Assist with benefit administration and tracking eligibility
- Assist with allocating group insurance costs and processing invoices monthly
- Assist with updating benefits system
- Assist with onboarding
- Assist with payroll
- Assist with COBRA, leave of absence, FMLA, short term disability claims and state paid leave
- Assist with worker compensation claims
- Assist with employee communications including company announcements and policy changes
- Maintain company store master list and vCards
- Assist with Federal and State compliance
- Assist with completing monthly and quarterly census
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in human resources, payroll and/or benefits
- Must be a team player and possess a can-do attitude and be able to develop great relationships
- An ideal candidate will also have a practical, business-orientated approach to problem solving and thrive in fast-paced environment, tempered by an appreciation of complexity and risk
- Critical thinking, organization, communication, interpersonal, attention to detail and technology skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
