What are the responsibilities and job description for the Charge Nurse - RN/LVN position at Ashton Medical Lodge?
Managing resident care routines and clinical handoffs on our skilled nursing floor requires steady coordination between shift partners. Our unit handles a mix of post-acute rehabilitation recovery and long-term care management. You will work directly with our charge nurses and CNAs to maintain medication schedules and physician orders during 12-hour shifts.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
- Pay Rate: LVNs start at $30/hour, RNs start at $35. Both scale upward depending on experience
- Schedule: 12-Hr (6a-6p / 6p-6a)

Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to physician orders.
- Conduct daily resident assessments and document clinical updates in PointClickCare.
- Complete shift handoffs with oncoming nursing personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- Coordinate with attending physicians and therapy staff on plan-of-care updates.
- Supervise floor CNAs to ensure personal care and turning schedules are completed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Must pass a standard criminal background check
- Must pass a drug screening
- Reliable transportation for consistent attendance
