JOB SUMMARY:
The Revenue Cycle Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the physician practice revenue cycle operations across the outpatient clinics, including Rural Health Clinics and Primary Care Practices. This position is responsible for analyzing performance metrics, ensuring compliance with payer regulations, developing and delivering staff training, and leading process improvement initiatives. This role will focus on
claims billing and denial management/resolution, education, data analysis and ensuring accurate billing, coding and reimbursement. The analyst collaborates across multiple clinics and departments to enhance financial outcomes and operational efficiency while maintaining regulatory integrity.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, compliance, or analytics.
License / Certifications:
- CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) - Preferred
- Billing Certification of CPC - Preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and analyze revenue cycle reports and dashboards (e.g., denials, AR days, cash collections, payer mix).
- Identify and analyze trends and variances to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Present actionable insights to clinic leadership and providers.
Claims Billing and Denial Resolution
- Management and resolution of claim hold.
- Collaborate with billing teams to resolve issues and prevent future denials.
Compliance Oversight
- Monitor payer guidelines and regulatory changes (e.g., CMS, Medicaid, commercial payers).
- Ensure billing, coding, and reimbursement practices align with current regulations.
- Support internal reviews and assist in resolving compliance-related issues.
Training & Education
- Review provider documentation and coding for accuracy.
- Deliver education to improve CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding, Charting Standards, and Payer Specific requirements for billing.
- Maintain training materials and update them regularly based on regulatory changes.
Charge Capture & Workflow Optimization
- Recommend process improvement to enhance revenue capture and charge entry.
- Collaborate with Patient Financial Services, HIM, and clinical departments to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Refund & Reconciliation Support
- Assist with credit balance reviews and refund processing.
- Reconcile payments and adjustments for clinic services.
