Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Imaging Department provides patient-centered nursing care before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety, procedural efficiency, and high-quality outcomes across a variety of imaging services.
Position Details
- Employment Type: PRN (as needed)
- Shift: Day Shift (1st shift; schedule varies)
- Department: Radiology / Imaging
- Travel: None required
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures
- Prepare and educate patients for procedures, including cardiac stress testing and biopsies
- Assist physicians and radiology staff with procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and biopsies
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures, responding promptly to changes
- Administer medications, including IV contrast, in accordance with established protocols
- Establish and maintain IV access; assist with or perform PICC line placement as appropriate
- Coordinate care with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (CPR) – required within one (1) month of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within orientation period
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within orientation period
- Experience: Imaging, procedural, or outpatient nursing experience preferred; cardiac stress testing experience is a plus

Employment Requirements
