Ash & Harris Executive Search is looking for a Maintenance Unit Supervisor
Overview:
This is an on-site position at our client's facility in Davenport, Iowa. You will be a key part of the operations team, providing direct leadership to a unionized maintenance crew on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused leader dedicated to maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct leadership and technical guidance to a team of unionized mechanical and electrical maintenance employees.
- Manage the execution of both planned and unplanned maintenance work, prioritizing tasks to minimize downtime.
- Champion a culture of safety by conducting daily safety discussions and job-specific reviews.
- Utilize root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve complex maintenance issues efficiently.
- Act as a liaison between the maintenance team, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow.
- Oversee crew-related matters, including work allocation, scheduling, and performance adjustments.
Requirements:
Education
- A High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experiences
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
Other
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits:

- $70,000 - $85,000 per year
