Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient AR/AP Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills combined with a solid understanding of financial principles including GAAP to support our organization’s accounting functions. This position provides an opportunity for an individual to contribute meaningfully within a professional setting. This position reports to the Senior Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable, invoices and payments ensuring transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies.
- Progress and retention billing experience with software such as GC Pay, Textura, Procore and others.
- Maintain compliance requirements with construction customers.
- Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions and journal entries.
- Research and resolve issues with customers and vendors.
- Complete simple and complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools.
- Obtain and/or provide relevant credit and tax information.
- Ad Hoc: Assist other team members with special projects as needed such as monthly closing and audits as well as any and all other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- HS Diploma
- 1-3 years accounts payable or accounts receivable experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions including debits & credits, journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong math skills along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills working with those inside and outside of the company
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
