Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient A/R Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills combined with a solid understanding of financial principles including GAAP to support our organization’s accounting functions. This includes data entry, account reconciliation, and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards such as GAAP. This position provides an opportunity for an individual to contribute meaningfully within a professional setting. This position reports to the Senior Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable, including ensuring transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies.
- Create customer invoices, post payments, and correspond with customers.
- Research and resolve issues with customers.
- Complete simple and complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools.
- Obtain credit and tax information.
- Ad Hoc: Assist other team members with special projects as needed such as monthly closing and audits as well as any other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- HS Diploma
- 1-3 years accounting department experience
- Strong customer service background.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions including debits & credits, journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong math skills along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills working with those inside and outside of the company
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
