Intex Coatings is a commercial painting contractor based in Orlando, FL. While our core work is large-scale commercial projects, we also perform specialized services such as theme painting and protective coatings. We are seeking an experienced Theme Paint Foreman to lead our team on themed environment projects. This position is primarily night shift, though occasional daytime work may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, masking, and priming.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Match and mix paints to desired colors and finishes.
- Inspect completed work for quality, coverage, and adherence to specifications.
- Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment (e.g., spray guns, scaffolding, lifts).
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and team members.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial or industrial painting.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coating types, and application methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working at heights and with hazardous materials.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, climb, or bend for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Certification in lead-safe work practices or aerial lift operation a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with epoxy coatings, intumescent coatings, or electrostatic painting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality results.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
Location
- Most projects are located in Orlando, though work may occasionally take place across Central Florida.
