What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver / Event Installer - No CDL Required position at Ascension Party Rentals?
Ascension Party Rentals is a 20 year event rental company based in Gonzales, delivering tents, staging, and event equipment across the Baton Rouge metro, including weddings, LSU game days and major industrial clients. We are growing our event division and hiring drivers who show up.
Pay: $17.00 - $21.50 per hour. That's base rate ($16-$19 depending on experience) plus driving pay ($1.00-$2.50/hr based on vehicle certification). Every hire in this role drives, so every hire earns above base.
Hours: 30-45 per week, year-round. Full weeks plus overtime during our two peak seasons (mid-March through May, mid-August through December). We guarantee a 30-hour floor in slower months, and honestly, the hours are usually there beyond that for guys who want them.
What you'll do:
- Drive box trucks and truck-trailer combos (no CDL required, all vehicles under 26,000 lbs)
- Deliver, install, and strike tents, tables, chairs, staging, and event equipment
- Lead or work on install crews depending on experience
Schedule:
- Core schedule Monday-Friday
- During our two peak seasons, your 5-day week includes one weekend day with a weekday off
- Overtime available during peak season
What we need from you:
- 18 , valid driver's license, clean driving record
- Comfortable pulling trailers or willing to learn (we train and pay more when you certify)
- Physical outdoor work: lifting, loading, installing in Louisiana weather
- Reliability. Show up when scheduled. Our pay scale literally rewards it
Published pay scale, not promises:
Every role has 8 written raise steps. Experienced hires start at the level matching their skills, not the bottom.
- Installer I: $14.00 to $19.71
- Installer II: $16.00 to $22.54
- Senior Installer: $18.00 to $25.36
- Lead Installer: $19.00 to $26.77
- Master Installer: $21.00 to $29.59
Driving pay added to your base rate: $1.00/hr box truck, $1.50/hr truck and trailer, $2.50/hr certified on all vehicles and trailers.
Leadership advancement available for the right candidate. We promote from within and are building out crew leadership this year.
