A mid-sized construction company in New York City is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to oversee the full scope of union payroll operations. This role requires strong knowledge of job costing and union/certified payroll compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer full-cycle union payroll for 60 employees
- Process and reconcile union remittances, certified payrolls, and prevailing wage reports
- Manage workers’ compensation claims, payroll audits, and compliance reporting (OSHA, EEOC, OCIP/CCIP)
- Ensure compliance with NYS unemployment and payroll tax regulations
- Handle job costing, payroll reconciliations, and identify/correct discrepancies within Sage 300
- Generate and format Excel reports (tables, payroll packages, data analysis)
- Support payroll system transition (experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus)
- Assist with payroll audits, garnishments, benefit remittances, and collaborate with leadership on payroll compliance
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in payroll and job cost
- Solid understanding of union payroll, certified payroll, and construction payroll compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently
